Shifting Sands is
built to 7mm/ft scale and uses 9mm gauge track to represent a railway of
15 inch gauge. This scale/gauge combination is known as 'O9'.
The layout represents a British seaside miniature railway running close
to the sand dunes, holiday camps and other attractions. Most of
the locomotives and rolling stock are scratch built with a few modified
kits from specialist suppliers.
