The layout is set in a
fictitious town in the north of England.The time period being around the late fifties to early seventies,
taking in the steam/diesel/electric transition period.
The layout features a double track secondary route with a
branch line passing behind a small station. Also featured are a
refueling point, goods facility and stabling sidings for steam, diesel
and electric loco's.The
overhead catenary represents the type used on the Woodhead route rated
at 1500v D.C. The supports being scratch built from brass section and
the wires are by sommerfeldt. Trackwork is PECO code 75 ballasted with
fine grade woodland scenic's ballast.
The steam and diesel locomotives are Bachmann and Hornby ready to
run items, all being weathered to varying degrees with an airbrush.The class 76 and 77 loco's are D.C. Kits/Silver Fox and the Class
506 EMU is an old MTK kit.
